Like having to do homework

O.K., I'm new to this blog thing, I think the hardest part is remembering to post new information to it.  It's kind of like having homework to do in school.  I would think about posting a new blog while driving in my car or flying in a plane, or any other time I didn't have access to a computer and the internet, but here I am now and there are many new things happening at Country Sewing Center.  First, our Spring Class Schedule will be out very shortly, it should be posted on the website in the next few days, and this schedule is jam packed with new projects, favorite old projects, Husqvarna/Viking projects and software classes.  Preview Day is Saturday, Feb. 9th.  Secondly, new fabric is continuing to arrive daily, we have received the new Laurel Burch collection, the new Nobu Fujiama collection of Asian prints from Kona Bay, and several additions to the fabrics from the Civil War from Windham Fabrics.  We hope to receive the Wizard of Oz collection from Cranston very soon (it was supposed to be here in December).  Thimbleberries is starting the new Lodge and Lakeside projects, it is not too late to join if you missed the January meeting, Pam and Marilee have a great program for Thimbleberries this year.  Thirdly, Husqvarna/Viking has informed us that there will be a new top-of-the-line sewing/embroidery machine later this year.  Details are all very hush, hush, it even has a code name, the P.102.  so I can't tell you much more about it, but I can tell you that means we are wheeling and dealing on the Designer SE/LE and the Designer 1 ESS USB sewing machines that we currently have in stock.  There are some great bonuses available with the Designer SE/LE especially, stop by and we can show you some of the fabulous features of these great machines.

Hope to see you soon!

Grand Opening!
Its finally here!  Country Sewing Center starts their Grand Opening Celebration tonight, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.  We will close at 6:00 and re-open at 6:30 with refreshments, fun and holiday spirit.  The fun will continue through the next Saturday, Dec. 15th.  Be sure to stop by and share a cup of cider and a holiday cookie and take advantage of some Grand Opening Specials.

New product continues to arrive (never as fast as we want it to), new arrivals include Valentine fabric from Moda, Cadbury Castle from Timeless Treasures and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new collection from Laurel Burch from Clothworks.

Next time you're in the shop, make sure we have your current address as well as email address.  Email subscribers will receive extra bonuses throughout the year, our way of saying thank you for saving the resources it takes to mail a paper newsletter.

Bill & I would like to wish a safe and happy holiday season to everyone in the Country Sewing Center community.  We sincerely appreciate your patronage and friendship.

Returning to Normal
Things are starting to settle in at our new store.  New fabric is starting to roll in, new Asian prints from Hoffman, new batiks from Timeless Treasures and new sunflowers from Maywood Studio to name a few.  If you can't find something please ask a staff member, we are still catching up on the notions, books and pattern ordering.  Our next Preview Day is Saturday, Nov. 10th.  I will be out of town so check in to see what specials the staff has come up with while the boss is away.

We're Moved!!
We are officially moved and up and running in our new location at 9414 Elk Grove Florin Rd., unfortunately the building sign still says Village Card & Gift.  The new sign should be up in a couple of weeks.  Our new store is in the Elk Grove Shopping Center, about 1/2 mile north of Elk Grove Blvd. and we are loving all of the extra space and light.  We still have a few boxes to unpack (o.k. a lot of boxes to unpack) but most of the fabric, books and patterns are out.  They are still working on the sewing machine area so the guys are stuck doing repairs in the old store and not all new machines or parts have made it over yet.  We hope to have everything in one home by the end of the month.  Meanwhile, stop by and check out the new digs, if you have trouble finding us just call at 916-685-8500 and we will direct you.
